Free Submissions, Erasure Poem, Images
That pretty much sums it up. Next week jmww’s open reading period opens for Blended & Beyond, Volume 7. Here is the link to our Submittable. It’s free to submit and all our selections are made from these submissions. As always, we are looking for groundbreaking blended-genre, hybrid, unclassifiable, experimental work.
I have been eye-achingly absorbed/obsessed with expanding my poetics manuscript into a full-length hybrid. Turns out, I needed to create a body-image mental-health-image project. Nervous but exhilarated to submit and have a few places in mind. If you know any publishers open to bold full-length poetry hybrid submissions, please DM me via social or email me. Thank you thank you thank you gratitude.
While gathering photos and taking notes, I came across these few pieces that I’ll also add to the site’s Images page. Plus, a blackout/erasure poem I made after noticing the email notes I sent to myself over the course of 4 hours yesterday. All were ideas for the manuscript’s intro. Have you have taken a screenshot of your inbox to create a poem? I don’t know what others do, but I import the image into MS Word and then use the “markup” function to add blackout boxes. The resulting file should be screen grabbed or saved as PDF so nobody can remove the markups in a .doc file.
